A stitch in time…

Well I’m trying to add to my photo resume and things that I can do at least tolerably well. So I took a few shots of the valley before we left Howe’s Caverns the other day. Tonight I tried breaking in GIMP and stitching them together. Its slightly off and I need to mess with it some more, but not a bad start I dont think.

Weekday Adventure

So the wife had the week off between summer school and starting the regular school year. Since we really haven’t been able to have a vacation together this year, we decided to take a day this week and hang out just the two of us. It was a great day and we went to Howe’s Caverns in Upstate NY. I had never been so we decided to go out. It was a great day and was good exercise for us both. Not a ton of the pics came out where I was happy with them, but I liked this one.

A real bird this time

Ok ok. So I didnt post an actual bird last time, but I have one today. Again caught at work (doesnt it seem like I should be working at work?). He was caught for a few minutes in a covered walkway that goes between two buildings.  He did get out shortly after I got this shot.

So since I always seem to be doing nature photography, it only stands to reason that I would have a bird photo since I haven’t done one in a while.  I captured this one when i was in the parking lot of work the other morning.

Ok ok. So it’s not a “bird” technically. Close enough. Next post will be a real bird. Honest.

Last of the nature hike pics here. This was right at the end of the walk. The wife was showing me where they have a bird and butterfly observation station. As we were about to turn and head back to the truck, we spied these two bunnies just sitting in the grass. I actually had the short lens on when I took this, but I was able to crop it pretty well.
