Duck Pond’s First Giveaway!!

June 16, 2010 at 9:45 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 6 Comments

Hiya folks! So I’ve been here for a while now and I decided I wanted to celebrate! Maybe its the sun (what little there has been of it) or maybe its that the big party holidays are coming up!

What am I giving away you might ask? Well I’m glad you did! My gf and favorite talented crafty type person Sandy is gifting me the prize. The winner of the contest will have their choice of one of the following: either a crocheted drawstring pouch or a crocheted necklace/earring set.  You can see an example of each below. The color will be able to be picked by the winner.

“So, what do I have to do to win this cool stuff?” I can hear you asking already. Again, I’m glad you asked. There will be a couple ways to enter the contest.

  • 3 entries – Re-blog this contest – Post this contest on your blog and leave a comment on this blog linking to it.
  • 1 entry – Retweet one of two messages depending on which prize you’d like. “I want to win a crocheted pouch from #CjsDuckPond” or “I want to win a crocheted necklace/earrings from #CjsDuckPond”

The contest will run from the moment of this posting until 11:59 EST  next Sunday night, June 27th. You will be allowed two twitter entries per day and one blog entry overall. Any additional will be appreciated but not counted as overall entries.

If you are interested in other crocheted and handmade goodies, you can find more of Sandy’s handiwork on her Facebook page, Chunky Funk.

Hey all. As some of you know, or at least you would if you’ve read all my back posts, this started out as a photo blog and now that its nice out (i say that with hail and thunderstorms in the forcast) hopefully I can take more photos to share with you all. Below are two pics I took on my train ride from NYC to Poughkeepsie last weekend. Same bridge in both shots. Just one from each side and one with the color saturation cranked up. Enjoy!

…I’m looking forward to this summer. June,  July, and August are going to be just as busy as it has been but some good stuff is coming up.

1. Requiem Games. I know this happens every month. But its a good time. And its something we look forward to.

2. 4th of July. We are going to a block party at a friend’s. It should be a blast.

3. Gamache/Molloy Pig Roast. This is my uncle and his wifes families reunion. I will get to see alot of my relatives that I dont get to see often. It’s going to rock.

4. Boston Beer Fest. We are hopfully heading there next weekend. If anyone wants to get together and drink, let me know.

5. Vacation.  I plan on taking a week off at some point this summer. I’m not sure when and what I’ll do, but I have the time and I’ll be taking it.

There are tons of other things on my plate, but I plan on making time to have fun and relax too. Life is too short not to.

Memorial Day Weekend Recap

June 2, 2010 at 6:29 pm | Posted in weekend | 1 Comment

First off, I know I have now passed 10K tweets and I promised you all details on the contest I am going to be running to celebrate. That post will be coming in the next day or two after I work out the last of the kinks.

Now, on to the main post. This past weekend was Memorial Day here in the states. I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend. But most of all, I hope you all took a moment to remember, thanks or otherwise recognize someone in the military for their service. These men and women are the major reason why we can live the way we do and the way we want.

My weekend all led up to Memorial Day itself. The wife and I invited a bunch of friends over to the house for a big party. We usually do it once or twice a year. More often than not, after the party we realize WHY its only once or twice a year, lol. Early in the day Sunday, I got up and broke in my new smoker. I put in a pulled pork and let it do its thing. So most of Sunday was cleaning and attending to the smoker. Later on the gf came over to help. She also stayed over sunday night in order to help us clean and prep the that morning with any last min stuff since the wife had to go out and pick a few party members up. So I got up again early Sunday morning and went downstairs. The gf slept on the couch and snuck my hands under her blanket and gave her a nice wakeup, first with my hands, then with my cock.  I then went to shower and start the day officially. 🙂

We had a great turnout, with almost everyone showing up. There was food and drink galore. We drank and laughed. Oh did we laugh. Stories were told both old and new. New friends were made and we all had a grand time. No one fought and all was right with the world. If only everyday could be like that.
